His most famous written work is the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Confessions_of_St._Augustine\">Confessions<\/a>, which spans 13 books and is regarded as the first Western autobiography ever written. The work follows the first few decades of his faith journey.
