From time to time we like to take a look at our site statistics to see if we can learn anything about how people around the world use Bible Gateway. Today we looked up statistics on traffic from major cities over the past month. We were specifically looking for two things: what cities have the most traffic to Bible Gateway, and what passages are people reading in those cities.
What follows is a custom google map with placemarks showing the top ten cities. Each of the placemarks has the top five passages—irrespective of translation—listed on it:

There were a few things that I found interesting about the data:
- Psalm 23 shows up in the top five passages for every city but Singapore.
- Only eight books of the Bible are represented on the list.
- Singapore and Makati City in the Philippines are the only non-Western cities in the top ten.
