Titus 1:12

12 One among themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, “The Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, slothful gluttons.”

Titus 1:12X

12 One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, idle gluttons.

Titus 1:12X

12 One of their [very] number, a prophet of their own, said, Cretans are always liars, hurtful beasts, idle and lazy gluttons.

Titus 1:12X

12 Someone who is one of their own prophets said, “People from Crete are always liars, wild animals, and lazy gluttons.”

Titus 1:12X

12 Even one of the Cretans’ own prophets has said, “Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons” —

Titus 1:12X

12 It is like one of their own prophets once said,

“The people of Crete
    always tell lies.
They are greedy and lazy
    like wild animals.”

Titus 1:12X

12 One of themselves, a prophet of their own, has said, Cretans are always liars, evil wild beasts, lazy gluttons.

Titus 1:12X

12 One of them a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are always liars, evil beasts, slothful bellies.

Titus 1:12X

12 Even one of their own prophets said, “Cretans are always liars. They are evil animals and lazy people who do nothing but eat.”

Titus 1:12X

12 One of the Cretans, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.”

Titus 1:12X

12 One of the Cretans, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.”

Titus 1:12X

12 Even one of their own prophets said, “Cretans are always liars, evil ·animals [beasts], and lazy ·people who do nothing but eat [gluttons; C a quote from Epimenides, a poet from Crete (sixth century bc)].”

Titus 1:12X

12 One of themselves, even one of their own Prophets said, The Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.

Titus 1:12X

12 Even one of their own prophets said, “Cretans are always liars, savage animals, and lazy gluttons.”

Titus 1:12X

12-13 It was a Cretan himself, one of their own prophets, who spoke the truth when he said, “Cretans are always liars, wicked beasts, and lazy gluttons.” For this reason you must rebuke them sharply, so that they may have a healthy faith

Titus 1:12X

12 One of their very own prophets said,

Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.

Titus 1:12X

Be on your guard against counterfeit Christians

10-16 But there are many, especially among the Jews, who will not recognise authority, who talk nonsense and yet in so doing have managed to deceive men’s minds. They must be silenced, for they upset the faith of whole households, teaching what they have no business to teach for the sake of what they can get. One of them, yes, one of their prophets, has said: “Men of Crete are always liars, evil and beastly, lazy and greedy.” There is truth in this testimonial of theirs! Don’t hesitate to reprimand them sharply for you want them to be sound and healthy Christians, with a proper contempt for Jewish fairy tales and orders issued by men who have forsaken the path of truth. Everything is wholesome to those who are themselves wholesome. But nothing is wholesome to those who are themselves unwholesome and who have no faith in God—their very minds and consciences are diseased. They profess to know God, but their actual behaviour denies their profession, for they are obviously vile and rebellious and when it comes to doing any real good they are palpable frauds.

Titus 1:12X

12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are always liars, evil beasts, lazy bellies.

Titus 1:12X

12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, the Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.

Titus 1:12X

12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.

Titus 1:12X

12 A certain one of them, one of their own prophets, has said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.”

Titus 1:12X

12 One of their own men, a prophet from Crete, has said about them, “These men of Crete are all liars; they are like lazy animals, living only to satisfy their stomachs.”

Titus 1:12X

10-16 For there are a lot of rebels out there, full of loose, confusing, and deceiving talk. Those who were brought up religious and ought to know better are the worst. They’ve got to be shut up. They’re disrupting entire families with their teaching, and all for the sake of a fast buck. One of their own prophets said it best:

The Cretans are liars from the womb,
    barking dogs, lazy bellies.

He certainly spoke the truth. Get on them right away. Stop that diseased talk of Jewish make-believe and made-up rules so they can recover a robust faith. Everything is clean to the clean-minded; nothing is clean to dirty-minded unbelievers. They leave their dirty fingerprints on every thought and act. They say they know God, but their actions speak louder than their words. They’re real creeps, disobedient good-for-nothings.

Titus 1:12X

12 One tis of ek them autos, their idios own autos prophet prophētēs, said legō, “ Cretans Krēs are always aei liars pseustēs, evil kakos beasts thērion, lazy argos gluttons gastēr.”

Titus 1:12X

12 Even one of their own prophets said, “Cretans are always liars, savage animals, and lazy gluttons.”

Titus 1:12X

12 One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.”

Titus 1:12X

12 Even one of their own prophets said, “Cretans are always liars, evil animals, and lazy people who do nothing but eat.”

Titus 1:12X

12 A certain one of them, in fact, one of their own prophets, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.”

Titus 1:12X

12 Even one of their own prophets has said, “People from Crete are always liars. They are evil beasts. They don’t want to work. They live only to eat.”

Titus 1:12X

12 One of Crete’s own prophets has said it: “Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons.”

Titus 1:12X

12 One of Crete’s own prophets has said it: ‘Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons.’

Titus 1:12X

12 One of them, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.”

Titus 1:12X

12 One of their own teachers said, “People of the island of Crete always lie. They are like wild animals. They are lazy. All they want to do is eat.”

Titus 1:12X

12 Even one of their own men, a prophet from Crete, has said about them, “The people of Crete are all liars, cruel animals, and lazy gluttons.”

Titus 1:12X

12 It was one of them, their very own prophet, who said,

“Cretans are always liars, vicious brutes, lazy gluttons.”

Titus 1:12X

12 It was one of them, their very own prophet, who said,

‘Cretans are always liars, vicious brutes, lazy gluttons.’

Titus 1:12X

12 It was one of them, their very own prophet, who said,

‘Cretans are always liars, vicious brutes, lazy gluttons.’

Titus 1:12X

12 It was one of them, their very own prophet, who said,

“Cretans are always liars, vicious brutes, lazy gluttons.”

Titus 1:12X

12 A certain one of them, a "navi" of their own number, said, "Cretans are always meshakkrim (liars), wicked beasts, lazy trombeniks (gluttons)."

Titos 1:12X

12 One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.”

Titus 1:12X

12 One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.”

Titus 1:12X

12 I’ll tell you, even their own prophet was heard saying, “Chronic liars, foul beasts, and lazy gluttons—that’s who you’ll meet in Crete.”

Titus 1:12X

12 One of them, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, and idle gluttons.”

Titus 1:12X

12 What he said is true. You must tell them that they are wrong. Tell them to stop it. They must believe what is true.

Titus 1:12X

12 And one of them, their proper prophet said [Some one of them, the proper prophet of them, said], said, Men of Crete be evermore liars, evil beasts, of slow womb [slow of womb].

Titus 1:12X

12 A certain one of them, a prophet of their own, said -- `Cretans! always liars, evil beasts, lazy bellies!'
