For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him; lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
For from the top of the rocks I see him, And from the hills I behold him: Lo, it is a people that dwelleth alone, And shall not be reckoned among the nations.
“For from the top of the rocks I see Israel, And from the hills I look at him. Behold, the people [of Israel] shall dwell alone And will not be reckoned among the nations.
For from the top of the rocks I see Israel, and from the hills I behold him. Behold, the people [of Israel] shall dwell alone and shall not be reckoned and esteemed among the nations.
For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
I see them from the top of rocky cliffs, and I watch them from the hills. There is a people living alone; it does not consider itself among the nations.
From the top of the rocks I see him; from the hills I gaze on him. Here is a people living alone; it doesn’t consider itself among the nations.
“From the top of the rocks I see them, from the hills I behold them — yes, a people that will dwell alone and not think itself one of the nations.
“From the mountain peaks, I look down and see Israel, the obedient people of God.
For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: Lo, [it is] a people that shall dwell alone and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
I shall see him from the tops of the rocks, and shall consider him from the hills. This people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
I see these people from the mountain. I see them from the high hills. They live alone. They are not part of another nation.
When I stand on the rocks, I can see the Israelites. I can watch them from the hills. They are people who are separate from other nations.
Yes, from the rocky peaks I see him. From the hills I look at him. Look! A people that dwells apart, that does not consider itself to be one of the nations.
For from the top of the crags I see him, from the hills I behold him; behold, a people dwelling alone, and not counting itself among the nations!
For from the top of the crags I see him, from the hills I behold him; behold, a people dwelling alone, and not counting itself among the nations!
I see them from the top of the ·mountains [cliffs]; I see them from the hills. I see a people who live alone, who think they are different from other nations [Ex. 19:5–6].
For from the top of the rocks I did see him, and from the hills I did behold him: lo, the people shall dwell by themselves, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
I see them from the top of rocky cliffs, I look at them from the hills. I see a nation that lives by itself, people who do not consider themselves to be like other nations.
From the high rocks I can see them; I can watch them from the hills. They are a nation that lives alone; They know they are blessed more than other nations.
I see them from the top of rocky cliffs, and I watch them from the hills. There is a people living alone; it does not consider itself among the nations.
I see them from the mountains. I see them from the hills. I see a people who live alone. They think they are different from other nations.
I saw them from the top of the rocks. I watched them from the hills. Truly this is a people that lives by itself and doesn’t matter among the nations.
For from the top of the rocks I have seen him, and from the hills I beheld him; behold, a people that shall dwell in confidence and shall not be counted among the Gentiles.
For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
For I see him from the top of the rocks, And I look at him from the hills; Behold, a people who dwells alone, And will not be reckoned among the nations.
Because from the top of the rocks I see him, from hilltops I watch him. Behold, a people who dwell alone, they do not consider themselves among the nations.
This was Balaam’s message: “King Balak, king of Moab, has brought me From the land of Aram, From the eastern mountains. ‘Come,’ he told me, ‘curse Jacob for me! Let your anger rise on Israel.’ But how can I curse What God has not cursed? How can I denounce A people God has not denounced? I see them from the cliff tops, I watch them from the hills. They live alone, And prefer to remain distinct From every other nation. They are as numerous as dust! They are beyond numbering. If only I could die as happy as an Israelite! Oh, that my end might be like theirs!”
He went back and found him stationed beside his Whole-Burnt-Offering and with him all the nobles of Moab. Then Balaam spoke his message-oracle: Balak led me here from Aram, the king of Moab all the way from the eastern mountains. “Go, curse Jacob for me; go, damn Israel.” How can I curse whom God has not cursed? How can I damn whom God has not damned? From rock pinnacles I see them, from hilltops I survey them: Look! a people camping off by themselves, thinking themselves outsiders among nations. But who could ever count the dust of Jacob or take a census of cloud-of-dust Israel? I want to die like these right-living people! I want an end just like theirs!
For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him; there, the people will dwell alone and will not be counted among the nations.
I see them from the top of rocky cliffs, I look at them from the hills. I see a nation that lives by itself, people who do not consider themselves to be like other nations.
For from the top of the crags I see him, from the heights I behold him. Here is a people that lives apart and does not reckon itself among the nations.
For I see him from the top of the rocks, And I look at him from the hills; Behold, a people that lives in isolation, And does not consider itself to be among the nations.
“As I see him from the top of the rocks, And I look at him from the hills; Behold, a people who dwells apart, And will not be reckoned among the nations.
From the top of the rocks I see him, from the hills I behold him. Behold, a people dwelling alone, not counted among the nations.
I see them from the top of the mountains; I see them from the hills. I see a people who live alone, who think they are different from other nations.
For from the top of the rocks I see them; from the hills I watch them. Indeed, a nation that lives alone, and it will not be reckoned among the nations.
I see them from the rocky peaks. I view them from the hills. I see a group of people who live by themselves. They don’t consider themselves to be one of the nations.
From the rocky peaks I see them, from the heights I view them. I see a people who live apart and do not consider themselves one of the nations.
From the rocky peaks I see them, from the heights I view them. I see people who live apart and do not consider themselves one of the nations.
For from the top of the rocks I see him, And from the hills I behold him; There! A people dwelling alone, Not reckoning itself among the nations.
I see Israel from the top of the rocks. I look at them from the hills. See, the people live apart. They will not be thought of as one of the nations.
I see them from the cliff tops; I watch them from the hills. I see a people who live by themselves, set apart from other nations.
For from the top of the crags I see him, from the hills I behold him. Here is a people living alone, and not reckoning itself among the nations!
For from the top of the crags I see him, from the hills I behold him. Here is a people living alone, and not reckoning itself among the nations!
For from the top of the crags I see him, from the hills I behold him. Here is a people living alone, and not reckoning itself among the nations!
For from the top of the crags I see him; from the hills I behold him. Here is a people living alone and not reckoning itself among the nations!
For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the heights I behold him; see, the people shall live apart, and shall not be reckoned among the Goyim.
For from the top of the mountains I see him, from the hills I behold him; lo, a people dwelling alone, and not reckoning itself among the nations!
For from the top of the mountains I see him, from the hills I behold him; lo, a people dwelling alone, and not reckoning itself among the nations!
From the rocky peaks I see him. From the heights I behold him. Look, he lives as a nation apart, and does not consider himself as being like the other nations.
Here on the heights, from the rocky places where I stand, I can see them; from these hills I observe them below. And what do I see but a unique and solitary people who do not have a place among the nations.
For from the top of the rocks I see him. From the hills I see him. Behold, it is a people that dwells alone, and shall not be listed among the nations.
From the highest flints I shall see him, and from the little hills I shall behold him; the people shall dwell alone, and it shall not be reckoned among heathen men. (From the highest rocks I shall see them, and from the little hills I shall behold them; these people shall live alone, and they shall not be counted among the heathen.)
For from the top of rocks I see it, And from heights I behold it; Lo a people! alone it doth tabernacle, And among nations doth not reckon itself.
