For He had said unto him, “Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.”

For Jesus was commanding, Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!

He said this because Jesus had already commanded him, “Unclean spirit, come out of the man!”

For Yeshua had already begun saying to him, “Unclean spirit, come out of this man!”

The man said this because Jesus had already told the evil spirit to come out of him.

7-8 As Jesus was saying, “You evil spirit, come out of this man,” the man shouted loudly, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you in God’s name not to punish me!”

7-8 Then Jesus spoke to the demon within the man and said, “Come out, you evil spirit.”

It gave a terrible scream, shrieking, “What are you going to do to me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? For God’s sake, don’t torture me!”

6-8 When he saw Jesus a long way off, he ran and bowed in worship before him—then bellowed in protest, “What business do you have, Jesus, Son of the High God, messing with me? I swear to God, don’t give me a hard time!” (Jesus had just commanded the tormenting evil spirit, “Out! Get out of the man!”)
