1 Corinthians 15:51

51 Behold, I show you a mystery: We shall not all sleep; but we shall all be changed

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We all shall not sleep, but we shall all be changed,

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 Take notice! I tell you a mystery (a secret truth, an event decreed by the hidden purpose or counsel of God). We shall not all fall asleep [in death], but we shall all be changed (transformed)

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 Listen, I’m telling you a secret: All of us won’t die, but we will all be changed—

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 Look, I will tell you a secret — not all of us will die! But we will all be changed!

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 I will explain a mystery to you. Not every one of us will die, but we will all be changed.

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all fall asleep, but we shall all be changed,

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 Behold, I tell you a mystery. We shall all indeed rise again: but we shall not all be changed.

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 But listen, I tell you this secret: We will not all die, but we will all be changed.

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 But look! I tell you ·this secret [a mystery; 2:1]: We will not all ·sleep in death [L sleep; C a euphemism for death], but we will all be changed.

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 Behold, I show you a secret thing, We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 I’m telling you a mystery. Not all of us will die, but we will all be changed.

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51-52 Listen to this secret truth: we shall not all die, but when the last trumpet sounds, we shall all be changed in an instant, as quickly as the blinking of an eye. For when the trumpet sounds, the dead will be raised, never to die again, and we shall all be changed.

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 Listen! I am telling you a mystery:

We will not all fall asleep,
but we will all be changed,

1 Corinthians 15:51X

The dead and the living will be fitted for immortality

51-53 Listen, and I will tell you a secret. We shall not all die, but suddenly, in the twinkling of an eye, every one of us will be changed as the trumpet sounds! The trumpet will sound and the dead shall be raised beyond the reach of corruption, and we who are still alive shall suddenly be utterly changed. For this perishable nature of ours must be wrapped in imperishability, these bodies which are mortal must be wrapped in immortality.

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 ¶ Behold, I show you a mystery: We shall all indeed be raised, but we shall not all be changed;

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: we will not all fall asleep, but we will all be changed,

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 But I am telling you this strange and wonderful secret: we shall not all die, but we shall all be given new bodies!

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51-57 But let me tell you something wonderful, a mystery I’ll probably never fully understand. We’re not all going to die—but we are all going to be changed. You hear a blast to end all blasts from a trumpet, and in the time that you look up and blink your eyes—it’s over. On signal from that trumpet from heaven, the dead will be up and out of their graves, beyond the reach of death, never to die again. At the same moment and in the same way, we’ll all be changed. In the resurrection scheme of things, this has to happen: everything perishable taken off the shelves and replaced by the imperishable, this mortal replaced by the immortal. Then the saying will come true:

Death swallowed by triumphant Life!
Who got the last word, oh, Death?
Oh, Death, who’s afraid of you now?

It was sin that made death so frightening and law-code guilt that gave sin its leverage, its destructive power. But now in a single victorious stroke of Life, all three—sin, guilt, death—are gone, the gift of our Master, Jesus Christ. Thank God!

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 Listen! I tell you a secret. We will not all die, but we will all be changed. It will happen very quickly, as fast as one can shut his eyes. It will be when the trumpet or horn is blown the last time. Someone will blow the trumpet, dead people will rise, and they will never die again. We ourselves will be changed.

1 Corinthians 15:51X

51 Lo! I say to you private of holy things [Lo! I say to you mystery, or private, of holy things]. And all we shall rise again, but not all we shall be changed;
