holy ones. An expression found also in the New Testament (Jude 14; cf. Matt. 25:31). These are God’s chosen servants, the angelic host (perhaps humans as well), coming to Jerusalem to liberate it from pagan aggressors. This day of battle ushers in the eternal bliss of God’s special presence among His people.
