20:1–10 An angel descending from heaven binds Satan for a thousand years (see Introduction: Interpretive Difficulties: The Millennium). The faithful martyrs (v. 4) come to life and reign with Christ. After the thousand years, Satan is released, gathers the nations for battle, and is finally rendered powerless (v. 10).
