Ps. 116 An exuberant thanksgiving to the Lord for delivering the psalmist from death. It is impossible to be precise about the threat that hung over the psalmist (perhaps sickness), but he looks back to his cry of distress to the Lord and proclaims with gladness that God heard him. As a result, he determines to offer sacrifices to the Lord. For the use of this psalm at a feast, see introduction to Ps. 113.
