Redeemer. The Hebrew term designates the family protector. For a distressed family member, among other things, he avenges a murder (Num. 35:19) and redeems family property and those who have become slaves (Lev. 25:23–49; Ruth 2:20 note). See also 35:9, 10 and note.
the Holy One of Israel. See note 1:4. The Lord, the Holy God, stoops to deliver His own people (43:14, 15; 45:11; 47:4; 48:17; 49:7; 54:5; 57:15).
