Since the Flood was a type of Christian baptism (1 Pet. 3:20, 21), the coming of Noah and his family out of the ark may be thought of as their emerging out of the waters of death into a new life (cf. John 5:28, 29; 11:43; Rom. 6:3–6). They prefigure the new humanity who prevail over evil (Rev. 21:7).
