Gen 33:18–35:29

33:18–35:29 This final section of “the account of Isaac” (Introduction: Outline), like the closing section in “the account of Abraham” (22:20–25:11), records the transition of patriarchies. It is structured according to Jacob’s itinerary back in the land, featuring deaths at various sites (which mark the passage of Isaac’s generation), and important episodes in the “account” such as the sins of Reuben, Simeon, and Levi.
