Ezek 37:1–14

37:1–14 Interpreters have long discussed the relationship between Ezekiel’s vision and the general resurrection at the end of time. The Old Testament does not present a complete doctrine of resurrection; this awaited the coming of Christ (Job 14:14; 19:25, 26; Dan. 12:2; see also 1 Kin. 17:17–24; 2 Kin. 4:8–37; 13:21). Ezekiel’s vision gave an immediate hope to the exiles longing to be restored to their own country (37:14), and it has a more permanent application to the general resurrection.
