Ezek 24:6

24:6 corrosion. The prophet looks at the corrosion (lit. “rust”) in the pot and likens it to the bloodshed and guilt in the city. Though its occupants were removed piece by piece and dispersed to the far corners of the world, the guilt of the city remained like scum in the bottom of the pot. Compare the denunciation of the bloodshed in the city in 22:1–16; 36:18; 2 Kin. 21:16; 24:4; Is. 26:21; 59:7; Lam. 4:13; Hos. 4:2; Joel 3:21; Mic. 3:10.
