23:16 Feast of Harvest. See v. 14; Deut. 16:9–12 and notes. Also known as the Feast of Weeks or Pentecost, by New Testament times this feast was associated with the giving of the law at Sinai. The new covenant counterpart is the gift of the Spirit at Pentecost (Acts 2:1–39; cf. Rom. 8:23).
