4:12–14 Mordecai subtly alludes to his belief that God, in His sovereignty, has providentially ordered the events of Esther’s life to put her in a position where she can act to deliver all the Jews. Mordecai believed that the sovereign God would bring relief and deliverance to the Jews, that Esther could be the means through which that deliverance would come, and that God was not restricted to this plan if Esther decided to remain quiet.
