Deut 16:1–17

16:1–17 Most of ch. 16 deals with the three pilgrimage festivals, so called because they required all grown males to celebrate them at the sanctuary. These feasts are mentioned briefly in Ex. 23:14–17, ending with the same charge given in similar language at Deut. 16:16: Every man must bring his offering. The feasts are listed again in Ex. 34:18–23, where the Passover is simply included with the closely associated Feast of Unleavened Bread (Ex. 23:15 note). All five major feasts are listed more fully in Lev. 23, and they are listed with their offerings in Num. 28 and 29.
