Acts 13:48

13:48 as many as were appointed to eternal life believed. God had chosen these people beforehand, and now through conviction and repentance (11:18; 2 Tim. 2:25) brought them to faith in Christ (Eph. 2:8). Luke uses the passive voice (“were appointed”), indicating that God is the agent. Only God grants eternal life (Matt. 25:46; John 10:28; 17:2). See “Election and Reprobation” at Rom. 9:18.
