21:1–18 These verses summarize the evil reign of Manasseh, king of Judah. Manasseh leads Judah into sin by reintroducing idolatry into Judah; he is also guilty of shedding “much innocent blood” (v. 16). So great is Manasseh’s sin that God pronounces disaster on Judah and Jerusalem.
