19:8 Libnah. This town was on the Judean border with Philistia, twelve miles southeast of Ashdod. In his annals, Sennacherib boasts of how he compelled Hezekiah to surrender into his custody the king of Ekron, whom Hezekiah was holding in Jerusalem. Sennacherib was evidently successful in reversing most of Hezekiah’s earlier gains against the Philistines (18:8).
