12:3 paradise. That is, the “third heaven” of v. 2. The Greek word for “paradise” is used with various meanings outside the New Testament, but in the New Testament all three occurrences refer to heaven, the place where the saints dwell with God (Luke 23:43; Rev. 2:7; and here).
