2 Chr 9:29–31

9:29–31 Writing for a generation in need of encouragement (v. 8 note), the author does not discuss the well-known trouble caused by Solomon’s foreign wives (1 Kin. 11:1–40). He moves directly from the king’s glory to the end of his reign. In the same way he does not bring up David’s sin with Bathsheba and the troubles this caused.
