2:28 wear an ephod. Or perhaps “carry” an ephod. The ephod mentioned here is not the garment mentioned in v. 18, but the high-priestly ephod bearing the “breastpiece of judgment” and the “Urim and Thummim,” through which the Lord’s will could be determined (Ex. 28:4–30).

gave . . . my offerings. Both in the Old Testament (Num. 18:8; Deut. 18:1) and in the New (1 Cor. 9:13, 14; 1 Tim. 5:17, 18) God provides for the support of those who are in His service.
