1 Sam 11:13

11:13 the Lord has worked salvation in Israel. Saul interrupts a question directed to Samuel with a confession that marks a high point in his own life. His amnesty or pardon of those “worthless fellows” (10:27) who rejected him can possibly be compared to his reluctance to kill Agag and the flocks of Amalek (15:9), if it is thought of as a failure to carry out the harsher aspects of a divine commission.
