The Lord’s Supper symbolizes, among other things, the unity of God’s people (10:17). Those Corinthians who were well-off apparently did not share with the less fortunate among them at the feasts where the Lord’s Supper was celebrated. This selfish behavior openly contradicted the meaning of the ceremony.
