The book of Proverbs is easy to outline because it is made up of collections of sayings. However, inside the larger blocks of materials there often seems to be no principle of organization. Proverbs may have been grouped together due to the use of similar words or even verb tenses while their contents might be diverse. The linking of sayings by verbal similarity does indicate that they were often memorized, the similarities providing mnemonic keys.
