- A. Ordination of Aaron and His Sons as Priests (8:1–36)
- B. Offering of the First Sacrifices (9:1–24)
- C. Death of Aaron's Sons (10:1–20)
Chs. 8-10 constitute the second major section of Leviticus. Regulations for the sacrifices having been presented in the previous chapters, the present material describes the inauguration of the offerings. Because a priesthood was required for the making of sacrifices, the ordination of Aaron and his sons is first recorded; then these chapters describe making the first offerings on the new altar.
