V. Further Sayings of The Wise (An Appendix) (24:23–34)

Vv. 23-26. The administration of justice is one of the factors that holds a society together. This saying is addressed to judges to encourage them to speak honestly in judgment.

V. 27. This proverb is taken from agriculture. One should provide for economic security before considering marriage, i.e., building a house.

Vv. 28, 29. Vengeance is no excuse for perjury. See commentary on 14:5.

Vv. 30-34. These verses give a graphic description of the poverty that laziness brings. See commentary on 6:6-11.
