II. The Campaigns For The Land (7:1–12:24)

This second major section of the book gives, in broad outline only, the southern and the northern campaigns that followed the taking of Jericho. Joshua's victories in these campaigns assured that the Canaanites would not be able to deny Israel access to the Negev and to the hill country of Judah, Samaria, and Galilee.
