^6 (A)When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took some of its fruit and ate; and she also gave some to her husband with her, and he ate.

² So Sarai said to Abram, “See now, the Lord has prevented me from bearing children. ^(A)Please have relations with my slave woman; perhaps I will ^[a]obtain children through her.” And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.

² Now at evening time David got up from his bed and walked around on ^(A)the roof of the king’s house, and from the roof he saw a woman bathing; and the woman was very beautiful in appearance. ³ So David sent servants and inquired about the woman. And someone said, “Is this not ^(B)Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of ^(C)Uriah the Hittite?” ⁴ Then David sent messengers and ^[a]had her brought, and when she came to him, ^(D)he slept with her; ^(E)and when she had purified herself from her uncleanness, she returned to her house.
