Lord, be gracious(A) to us;
    we long for you.
Be our strength(B) every morning,
    our salvation(C) in time of distress.(D)
At the uproar of your army,(E) the peoples flee;(F)
    when you rise up,(G) the nations scatter.
Your plunder,(H) O nations, is harvested(I) as by young locusts;(J)
    like a swarm of locusts people pounce on it.

The Lord is exalted,(K) for he dwells on high;(L)
    he will fill Zion with his justice(M) and righteousness.(N)
He will be the sure foundation for your times,
    a rich store of salvation(O) and wisdom and knowledge;
    the fear(P) of the Lord is the key to this treasure.[a](Q)

Look, their brave men(R) cry aloud in the streets;
    the envoys(S) of peace weep bitterly.
The highways are deserted,
    no travelers(T) are on the roads.(U)
The treaty is broken,(V)
    its witnesses[b] are despised,
    no one is respected.
The land dries up(W) and wastes away,
    Lebanon(X) is ashamed and withers;(Y)
Sharon(Z) is like the Arabah,
    and Bashan(AA) and Carmel(AB) drop their leaves.
