Psalm 148

 ¹ Praise the LORD. ^[a]
       Praise the LORD from the heavens,
       praise him in the heights above.

 ² Praise him, all his angels,
       praise him, all his heavenly hosts.

 ³ Praise him, sun and moon,
       praise him, all you shining stars.

 ⁴ Praise him, you highest heavens
       and you waters above the skies.

 ⁵ Let them praise the name of the LORD,
       for he commanded and they were created.

 ⁶ He set them in place for ever and ever;
       he gave a decree that will never pass away.

 ⁷ Praise the LORD from the earth,
       you great sea creatures and all ocean depths,

 ⁸ lightning and hail, snow and clouds,
       stormy winds that do his bidding,

 ⁹ you mountains and all hills,
       fruit trees and all cedars,

 ¹⁰ wild animals and all cattle,
       small creatures and flying birds,

 ¹¹ kings of the earth and all nations,
       you princes and all rulers on earth,

 ¹² young men and maidens,
       old men and children.

 ¹³ Let them praise the name of the LORD,
       for his name alone is exalted;
       his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.

 ¹⁴ He has raised up for his people a horn, ^[b]
       the praise of all his saints,
       of Israel, the people close to his heart.
       Praise the LORD.

Psalm 149

 ¹ Praise the LORD. ^[c]
       Sing to the LORD a new song,
       his praise in the assembly of the saints.

 ² Let Israel rejoice in their Maker;
       let the people of Zion be glad in their King.

 ³ Let them praise his name with dancing
       and make music to him with tambourine and harp.

 ⁴ For the LORD takes delight in his people;
       he crowns the humble with salvation.

 ⁵ Let the saints rejoice in this honor
       and sing for joy on their beds.

 ⁶ May the praise of God be in their mouths
       and a double-edged sword in their hands,

 ⁷ to inflict vengeance on the nations
       and punishment on the peoples,

 ⁸ to bind their kings with fetters,
       their nobles with shackles of iron,

 ⁹ to carry out the sentence written against them.
       This is the glory of all his saints.
       Praise the LORD.

Psalm 150

 ¹ Praise the LORD. ^[d]
       Praise God in his sanctuary;
       praise him in his mighty heavens.

 ² Praise him for his acts of power;
       praise him for his surpassing greatness.

 ³ Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
       praise him with the harp and lyre,

 ⁴ praise him with tambourine and dancing,
       praise him with the strings and flute,

 ⁵ praise him with the clash of cymbals,
       praise him with resounding cymbals.

 ⁶ Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
       Praise the LORD.

 ²⁹Now if there is no resurrection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them? ³⁰And as for us, why do we endanger ourselves every hour? ³¹I die every day—I mean that, brothers—just as surely as I glory over you in Christ Jesus our Lord. ³²If I fought wild beasts in Ephesus for merely human reasons, what have I gained? If the dead are not raised,
   "Let us eat and drink,
      for tomorrow we die."^{[a] 33}Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character." ³⁴Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—I say this to your shame.

The Resurrection Body

 ⁴²So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; ⁴³it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; ⁴⁴it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.
      If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. ⁴⁵So it is written: "The first man Adam became a living being"^[b]; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. ⁴⁶The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. ⁴⁷The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven. ⁴⁸As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the man from heaven, so also are those who are of heaven. ⁴⁹And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so shall we^[c] bear the likeness of the man from heaven.

 ⁵⁰I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. ⁵¹Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— ⁵²in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. ⁵³For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. ⁵⁴When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory."^[d]
 55"Where, O death, is your victory?
      Where, O death, is your sting?"^{[e] 56}The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. ⁵⁷But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

 ⁵⁸Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
