Psalm 146

 ¹ Praise the LORD. ^[a]
       Praise the LORD, O my soul.

 ² I will praise the LORD all my life;
       I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

 ³ Do not put your trust in princes,
       in mortal men, who cannot save.

 ⁴ When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;
       on that very day their plans come to nothing.

 ⁵ Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
       whose hope is in the LORD his God,

 ⁶ the Maker of heaven and earth,
       the sea, and everything in them—
       the LORD, who remains faithful forever.

 ⁷ He upholds the cause of the oppressed
       and gives food to the hungry.
       The LORD sets prisoners free,

 ⁸ the LORD gives sight to the blind,
       the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down,
       the LORD loves the righteous.

 ⁹ The LORD watches over the alien
       and sustains the fatherless and the widow,
       but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

 ¹⁰ The LORD reigns forever,
       your God, O Zion, for all generations.
       Praise the LORD.

Psalm 147

 ¹ Praise the LORD. ^[b]
       How good it is to sing praises to our God,
       how pleasant and fitting to praise him!

 ² The LORD builds up Jerusalem;
       he gathers the exiles of Israel.

 ³ He heals the brokenhearted
       and binds up their wounds.

 ⁴ He determines the number of the stars
       and calls them each by name.

 ⁵ Great is our Lord and mighty in power;
       his understanding has no limit.

 ⁶ The LORD sustains the humble
       but casts the wicked to the ground.

 ⁷ Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving;
       make music to our God on the harp.

 ⁸ He covers the sky with clouds;
       he supplies the earth with rain
       and makes grass grow on the hills.

 ⁹ He provides food for the cattle
       and for the young ravens when they call.

 ¹⁰ His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse,
       nor his delight in the legs of a man;

 ¹¹ the LORD delights in those who fear him,
       who put their hope in his unfailing love.

 ¹² Extol the LORD, O Jerusalem;
       praise your God, O Zion,

 ¹³ for he strengthens the bars of your gates
       and blesses your people within you.

 ¹⁴ He grants peace to your borders
       and satisfies you with the finest of wheat.

 ¹⁵ He sends his command to the earth;
       his word runs swiftly.

 ¹⁶ He spreads the snow like wool
       and scatters the frost like ashes.

 ¹⁷ He hurls down his hail like pebbles.
       Who can withstand his icy blast?

 ¹⁸ He sends his word and melts them;
       he stirs up his breezes, and the waters flow.

 ¹⁹ He has revealed his word to Jacob,
       his laws and decrees to Israel.

 ²⁰ He has done this for no other nation;
       they do not know his laws.
       Praise the LORD.

1 Corinthians 15

The Resurrection of Christ

 ³For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance^[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, ⁴that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, ⁵and that he appeared to Peter,^[b] and then to the Twelve. ⁶After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. ⁷Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, ⁸and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

 ⁹For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. ¹⁰But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. ¹¹Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.

The Resurrection of the Dead

 ²⁰But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. ²¹For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. ²²For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. ²³But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. ²⁴Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. ²⁵For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. ²⁶The last enemy to be destroyed is death. ²⁷For he "has put everything under his feet."^[c] Now when it says that "everything" has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. ²⁸When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.
