⁷ They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?

²⁹ Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

²⁷ And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

¹⁷ For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

¹⁹ Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?

²² For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

²³ And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

⁵ For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
