76 Dios es conocido en Judá;
En Israel es grande su nombre.
2 En Salem está su tabernáculo,
Y su habitación en Sion.
3 Allí quebró las saetas del arco,
El escudo, la espada y las armas de guerra. Selah
4 Glorioso eres tú, poderoso más que los montes de caza.
5 Los fuertes de corazón fueron despojados, durmieron su sueño;
No hizo uso de sus manos ninguno de los varones fuertes.
6 A tu reprensión, oh Dios de Jacob,
El carro y el caballo fueron entorpecidos.
7 Tú, temible eres tú;
¿Y quién podrá estar en pie delante de ti cuando se encienda tu ira?
8 Desde los cielos hiciste oír juicio;
La tierra tuvo temor y quedó suspensa
9 Cuando te levantaste, oh Dios, para juzgar,
Para salvar a todos los mansos de la tierra. Selah

77 Con mi voz clamé a Dios,
A Dios clamé, y él me escuchará.
2 Al Señor busqué en el día de mi angustia;
Alzaba a él mis manos de noche, sin descanso;
Mi alma rehusaba consuelo.
3 Me acordaba de Dios, y me conmovía;
Me quejaba, y desmayaba mi espíritu. Selah
4 No me dejabas pegar los ojos;
Estaba yo quebrantado, y no hablaba.
5 Consideraba los días desde el principio,
Los años de los siglos.
6 Me acordaba de mis cánticos de noche;
Meditaba en mi corazón,
Y mi espíritu inquiría:
7 ¿Desechará el Señor para siempre,
Y no volverá más a sernos propicio?
8 ¿Ha cesado para siempre su misericordia?
¿Se ha acabado perpetuamente su promesa?
9 ¿Ha olvidado Dios el tener misericordia?

78 Escucha, pueblo mío, mi ley;
Inclinad vuestro oído a las palabras de mi boca.
2 Abriré mi boca en proverbios;
Hablaré cosas escondidas desde tiempos antiguos,(A)
3 Las cuales hemos oído y entendido;
Que nuestros padres nos las contaron.
4 No las encubriremos a sus hijos,
Contando a la generación venidera las alabanzas de Jehová,
Y su potencia, y las maravillas que hizo.
5 Él estableció testimonio en Jacob,
Y puso ley en Israel,
La cual mandó a nuestros padres
Que la notificasen a sus hijos;
6 Para que lo sepa la generación venidera, y los hijos que nacerán;
Y los que se levantarán lo cuenten a sus hijos,
7 A fin de que pongan en Dios su confianza,
Y no se olviden de las obras de Dios;
Que guarden sus mandamientos,
8 Y no sean como sus padres,
Generación contumaz y rebelde;
Generación que no dispuso su corazón,
Ni fue fiel para con Dios su espíritu.
9 Los hijos de Efraín, arqueros armados,
Volvieron las espaldas en el día de la batalla.
10 No guardaron el pacto de Dios,
Ni quisieron andar en su ley;
11 Sino que se olvidaron de sus obras,
Y de sus maravillas que les había mostrado.
12 Delante de sus padres hizo maravillas
En la tierra de Egipto,(B) en el campo de Zoán.
13 Dividió el mar y los hizo pasar;
Detuvo las aguas como en un montón.(C)
14 Les guio de día con nube,
Y toda la noche con resplandor de fuego.(D)
15 Hendió las peñas en el desierto,
Y les dio a beber como de grandes abismos,
16 Pues sacó de la peña corrientes,
E hizo descender aguas como ríos.(E)
17 Pero aún volvieron a pecar contra él,
Rebelándose contra el Altísimo en el desierto;
18 Pues tentaron a Dios en su corazón,
Pidiendo comida a su gusto.
19 Y hablaron contra Dios,
Diciendo: ¿Podrá poner mesa en el desierto?
20 He aquí ha herido la peña, y brotaron aguas,
Y torrentes inundaron la tierra;
¿Podrá dar también pan?
¿Dispondrá carne para su pueblo?
21 Por tanto, oyó Jehová, y se indignó;
Se encendió el fuego contra Jacob,
Y el furor subió también contra Israel,
22 Por cuanto no habían creído a Dios,
Ni habían confiado en su salvación.
23 Sin embargo, mandó a las nubes de arriba,
Y abrió las puertas de los cielos,
24 E hizo llover sobre ellos maná para que comiesen,
Y les dio trigo de los cielos.(F)
25 Pan de nobles comió el hombre;
Les envió comida hasta saciarles.
26 Movió el solano en el cielo,
Y trajo con su poder el viento sur,
27 E hizo llover sobre ellos carne como polvo,
Como arena del mar, aves que vuelan.
28 Las hizo caer en medio del campamento,
Alrededor de sus tiendas.
29 Comieron, y se saciaron;
Les cumplió, pues, su deseo.
30 No habían quitado de sí su anhelo,
Aún estaba la comida en su boca,
31 Cuando vino sobre ellos el furor de Dios,
E hizo morir a los más robustos de ellos,
Y derribó a los escogidos de Israel.(G)
32 Con todo esto, pecaron aún,
Y no dieron crédito a sus maravillas.
33 Por tanto, consumió sus días en vanidad,
Y sus años en tribulación.
34 Si los hacía morir, entonces buscaban a Dios;
Entonces se volvían solícitos en busca suya,
35 Y se acordaban de que Dios era su refugio,
Y el Dios Altísimo su redentor.
36 Pero le lisonjeaban con su boca,
Y con su lengua le mentían;
37 Pues sus corazones no eran rectos con él,(H)
Ni estuvieron firmes en su pacto.
38 Pero él, misericordioso, perdonaba la maldad, y no los destruía;
Y apartó muchas veces su ira,
Y no despertó todo su enojo.
39 Se acordó de que eran carne,
Soplo que va y no vuelve.
40 ¡Cuántas veces se rebelaron contra él en el desierto,
Lo enojaron en el yermo!
41 Y volvían, y tentaban a Dios,
Y provocaban al Santo de Israel.
42 No se acordaron de su mano,
Del día que los redimió de la angustia;
43 Cuando puso en Egipto sus señales,
Y sus maravillas en el campo de Zoán;
44 Y volvió sus ríos en sangre,
Y sus corrientes, para que no bebiesen.(I)
45 Envió entre ellos enjambres de moscas(J) que los devoraban,
Y ranas(K) que los destruían.
46 Dio también a la oruga sus frutos,
Y sus labores a la langosta.(L)
47 Sus viñas destruyó con granizo,
Y sus higuerales con escarcha;
48 Entregó al pedrisco sus bestias,
Y sus ganados a los rayos.(M)
49 Envió sobre ellos el ardor de su ira;
Enojo, indignación y angustia,
Un ejército de ángeles destructores.
50 Dispuso camino a su furor;
No eximió la vida de ellos de la muerte,
Sino que entregó su vida a la mortandad.
51 Hizo morir a todo primogénito en Egipto,(N)
Las primicias de su fuerza en las tiendas de Cam.
52 Hizo salir a su pueblo como ovejas,
Y los llevó por el desierto como un rebaño.(O)
53 Los guio con seguridad, de modo que no tuvieran temor;
Y el mar cubrió a sus enemigos.(P)
54 Los trajo después a las fronteras de su tierra santa,(Q)
A este monte que ganó su mano derecha.
55 Echó las naciones de delante de ellos;(R)
Con cuerdas repartió sus tierras en heredad,
E hizo habitar en sus moradas a las tribus de Israel.
56 Pero ellos tentaron y enojaron al Dios Altísimo,(S)
Y no guardaron sus testimonios;
57 Sino que se volvieron y se rebelaron como sus padres;
Se volvieron como arco engañoso.
58 Le enojaron con sus lugares altos,
Y le provocaron a celo con sus imágenes de talla.
59 Lo oyó Dios y se enojó,
Y en gran manera aborreció a Israel.
60 Dejó, por tanto, el tabernáculo de Silo,
La tienda en que habitó entre los hombres,(T)
61 Y entregó a cautiverio su poderío,
Y su gloria en mano del enemigo.(U)
62 Entregó también su pueblo a la espada,
Y se irritó contra su heredad.
63 El fuego devoró a sus jóvenes,
Y sus vírgenes no fueron loadas en cantos nupciales.
64 Sus sacerdotes cayeron a espada,
Y sus viudas no hicieron lamentación.
65 Entonces despertó el Señor como quien duerme,
Como un valiente que grita excitado del vino,
66 E hirió a sus enemigos por detrás;
Les dio perpetua afrenta.
67 Desechó la tienda de José,
Y no escogió la tribu de Efraín,
68 Sino que escogió la tribu de Judá,
El monte de Sion, al cual amó.
69 Edificó su santuario a manera de eminencia,
Como la tierra que cimentó para siempre.
70 Eligió a David su siervo,
Y lo tomó de las majadas de las ovejas;
71 De tras las paridas lo trajo,
Para que apacentase a Jacob su pueblo,
Y a Israel su heredad.(V)
72 Y los apacentó conforme a la integridad de su corazón,

79 Oh Dios, vinieron las naciones a tu heredad;
Han profanado tu santo templo;
Redujeron a Jerusalén a escombros.(W)
2 Dieron los cuerpos de tus siervos por comida a las aves de los cielos,
La carne de tus santos a las bestias de la tierra.
3 Derramaron su sangre como agua en los alrededores de Jerusalén,
Y no hubo quien los enterrase.
4 Somos afrentados de nuestros vecinos,
Escarnecidos y burlados de los que están en nuestros alrededores.
5 ¿Hasta cuándo, oh Jehová? ¿Estarás airado para siempre?
¿Arderá como fuego tu celo?
6 Derrama tu ira sobre las naciones que no te conocen,
Y sobre los reinos que no invocan tu nombre.
7 Porque han consumido a Jacob,
Y su morada han asolado.
8 No recuerdes contra nosotros las iniquidades de nuestros antepasados;
Vengan pronto tus misericordias a encontrarnos,
Porque estamos muy abatidos.
9 Ayúdanos, oh Dios de nuestra salvación, por la gloria de tu nombre;

His name is (B)great in Israel.
2 His [a](C)tabernacle is in (D)Salem;
His (E)dwelling place also is in Zion.
3 There He (F)broke the [b]flaming arrows,
The shield, the sword, and the [c]weapons of war. Selah
4 You are resplendent,
[d]More majestic than the mountains of prey.
5 The (G)stouthearted were plundered,
[e]They sank into sleep;
And none of the [f]warriors could use his hands.
6 At Your (H)rebuke, God of Jacob,
Both [g](I)rider and horse were cast into a dead sleep.
7 You, You indeed are (J)to be feared,
And (K)who may stand in Your presence, [h]once You are angry?
8 You caused judgment to be heard from heaven;
The earth (L)feared and was still
9 When God (M)arose to judgment,
To save all the humble of the earth. Selah
10 For the [i](N)wrath of mankind shall praise You;
You will encircle Yourself with a remnant of wrath.

77 My voice rises to God, and I will (S)cry aloud;
My voice rises to God, and He will listen to me.
2 In the (T)day of my trouble I sought the Lord;
(U)In the night my (V)hand was stretched out and did not grow weary;
My soul (W)refused to be comforted.
3 When I remember God, then I am (X)restless;
When I (Y)sigh, then (Z)my spirit feels weak. Selah
4 You have held my eyelids open;
I am so troubled that I (AA)cannot speak.
5 I have considered the (AB)days of old,
The years of long ago.
6 I will remember my (AC)song in the night;
I (AD)will meditate with my heart,
And my spirit [l]ponders:
7 Will the Lord (AE)reject forever?
And will He (AF)never be favorable again?

78 (BF)Listen, my people, to my [v]instruction;
(BG)Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
2 I will (BH)open my mouth in a parable;
I will tell (BI)riddles of old,
3 Which we have heard and known,
And (BJ)our fathers have told us.
4 We will (BK)not conceal them from their children,
But we will (BL)tell the generation to come the praises of the Lord,
And His power and His (BM)wondrous works that He has done.
5 For He established a (BN)testimony in Jacob,
And appointed a (BO)law in Israel,
Which He (BP)commanded our fathers
That they were to [w](BQ)teach them to their children,
6 (BR)So that the generation to come would know, (BS)the children yet to be born,
That they would arise and (BT)tell them to their children,
7 So that they would put their confidence in God
And (BU)not forget the works of God,
But (BV)comply with His commandments,
8 And (BW)not be like their fathers,
A (BX)stubborn and rebellious generation,
A generation that (BY)did not [x]prepare its heart
And whose spirit was not (BZ)faithful to God.
9 The sons of Ephraim [y]were (CA)archers equipped with bows,
Yet (CB)they turned back on the day of battle.
10 They (CC)did not keep the covenant of God
And refused to (CD)walk in His Law;
11 They (CE)forgot His deeds
And His [z]miracles that He had shown them.
12 (CF)He performed wonders before their fathers
In the land of Egypt, in the (CG)field of Zoan.
13 He (CH)divided the sea and caused them to pass through,
And He made the waters stand (CI)up like a heap.
14 Then He led them with the cloud by (CJ)day
And all the night with a (CK)light of fire.
15 He (CL)split the rocks in the wilderness
And gave them plenty to drink like the ocean depths.
16 He (CM)brought forth streams from the rock
And made waters run down like rivers.
17 Yet they still continued to sin against Him,
To (CN)rebel against the Most High in the desert.
18 And in their heart they (CO)put God to the test
By asking for (CP)food [aa]that suited their taste.
19 Then they spoke against God;
They said, “(CQ)Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?
20 Behold, He (CR)struck the rock so that waters gushed out,
And streams were overflowing;
Can He also provide bread?
Will He prepare (CS)meat for His people?”
21 Therefore the Lord heard and [ab]was (CT)full of wrath;
And a fire was kindled against Jacob,
And anger also mounted against Israel,
22 Because they (CU)did not believe in God
And did not trust in His salvation.
23 Yet He commanded the clouds above
And (CV)opened the doors of heaven;
24 He (CW)rained down manna upon them to eat,
And gave them [ac](CX)food from heaven.
25 Man ate the bread of [ad]angels;
He sent them [ae]food [af](CY)in abundance.
26 He (CZ)made the east wind blow in the sky
And by His [ag]power He directed the south wind.
27 When He rained meat upon them like the dust,
Even (DA)winged fowl like the sand of the seas,
28 He let them fall in the midst of [ah]their camp,
All around their dwellings.
29 So they (DB)ate and were well filled,
And He [ai]satisfied their longing.
30 [aj]Yet before they had abandoned their longing,
(DC)While their food was in their mouths,
31 The (DD)anger of God rose against them
And killed [ak]some of their (DE)strongest ones,
And [al]subdued the choice men of Israel.
32 In spite of all this they (DF)still sinned
And (DG)did not believe in His wonderful works.
33 So He brought (DH)their days to an end in futility,
And their years to an end in sudden terror.
34 When He killed them, then they (DI)sought Him,
And they returned and searched (DJ)diligently for God;
35 And they remembered that God was their (DK)rock,
And the Most High God their (DL)Redeemer.
36 But they (DM)flattered Him with their mouth
And (DN)lied to Him with their tongue.
37 For their heart was not (DO)steadfast toward Him,
Nor were they faithful with His covenant.
38 But He, being (DP)compassionate, [am](DQ)forgave their wrongdoing and did not destroy them;
And often He [an](DR)restrained His anger
And did not stir up all His wrath.
39 So (DS)He remembered that they were only (DT)flesh,
A [ao](DU)wind that passes and does not return.
40 How often they (DV)rebelled against Him in the wilderness
And (DW)grieved Him in the (DX)desert!
41 Again and again they [ap](DY)tempted God,
And pained the (DZ)Holy One of Israel.
42 They (EA)did not remember (EB)His [aq]power,
The day when He (EC)redeemed them from the enemy,
43 When He performed His (ED)signs in Egypt
And His (EE)marvels in the field of Zoan,
44 And (EF)turned their rivers to blood,
And their streams, so that they could not drink.
45 He sent swarms of (EG)flies among them that devoured them,
And (EH)frogs that destroyed them.
46 He also gave their crops to the (EI)grasshopper
And the product of their labor to the (EJ)locust.
47 He [ar]destroyed their vines with (EK)hailstones
And their sycamore trees with frost.
48 He also turned their (EL)cattle over to the hailstones,
And their herds to bolts of lightning.
49 He (EM)sent His burning anger upon them,
Fury and indignation and trouble,
A band of [as]destroying angels.
50 He leveled a path for His anger;
He did not spare their souls from death,
But (EN)turned their lives over to the plague,
51 And (EO)struck all the firstborn in Egypt,
The (EP)first and best of their vigor in the tents of (EQ)Ham.
52 But He (ER)led His own people out like sheep,
And guided them in the wilderness (ES)like a flock;
53 He led them (ET)safely, so that they did not fear;
But (EU)the sea engulfed their enemies.
54 So (EV)He brought them to His holy [at]land,
To this [au](EW)hill country (EX)which His right hand had gained.
55 He also (EY)drove out the nations from them
And (EZ)apportioned them as an inheritance by measurement,
And had the tribes of Israel dwell in their tents.
56 Yet they [av](FA)tempted and (FB)rebelled against the Most High God
And did not keep His testimonies,
57 But turned back and (FC)acted treacherously like their fathers;
They (FD)turned aside like a treacherous bow.
58 For they (FE)provoked Him with their (FF)high places
And (FG)moved Him to jealousy with their (FH)carved images.
59 When God heard them, He [aw]was filled with (FI)wrath
And He utterly (FJ)rejected Israel;
60 So that He (FK)abandoned the (FL)dwelling place at Shiloh,
The tent [ax]which He had pitched among people,
61 And He gave up His (FM)strength to captivity
And His glory (FN)into the hand of the enemy.
62 He also (FO)turned His people over to the sword,
And [ay]was filled with wrath at His inheritance.
63 (FP)Fire devoured [az]His young men,
And [ba]His (FQ)virgins had no wedding songs.
64 [bb]His (FR)priests fell by the sword,
And [bc]His (FS)widows could not weep.
65 Then the Lord (FT)awoke as if from sleep,
Like a (FU)warrior [bd]overcome by wine.
66 He [be](FV)drove His adversaries backward;
He put on them an everlasting disgrace.
67 He also (FW)rejected the tent of Joseph,
And did not choose the tribe of Ephraim,
68 But chose the tribe of Judah,
Mount (FX)Zion, which He loved.
69 And He (FY)built His sanctuary like the heights,
Like the earth which He has established forever.
70 He also (FZ)chose His servant David
And took him from the sheepfolds;
71 From [bf](GA)the care of the [bg]ewes (GB)with nursing lambs He brought him
To (GC)shepherd Jacob His people,
And Israel (GD)His inheritance.
72 So he shepherded them according to the (GE)integrity of his heart,
And guided them with his skillful hands.

79 God, the (GF)nations have [bh]invaded (GG)Your inheritance;
They have defiled Your (GH)holy temple;
They have (GI)laid Jerusalem in ruins.
2 They have given the (GJ)dead bodies of Your servants to the birds of the sky as food,
The flesh of Your godly ones to the animals of the earth.
3 They have poured out their blood like water all around Jerusalem;
And there was (GK)no one to bury them.
4 We have become a (GL)disgrace before our neighbors,
An object of derision and ridicule to those around us.
5 (GM)How long, Lord? Will You be angry forever?
Will Your (GN)jealousy (GO)burn like fire?
6 (GP)Pour out Your wrath upon the nations which (GQ)do not know You,
And upon the kingdoms which (GR)do not call upon Your name.
7 For they have (GS)devoured Jacob
And (GT)laid waste his [bi]settlement.
8 (GU)Do not [bj]hold us responsible for [bk]the guilty deeds of our forefathers;
Let Your compassion come quickly to (GV)meet us,
For we have (GW)become very low.
9 (GX)Help us, God of our salvation, for the glory of (GY)Your name;
And save us and [bl](GZ)forgive our sins (HA)for the sake of Your name.
10 (HB)Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?”
Let (HC)vengeance for the blood of Your servants which has been shed
Be known among the nations in our sight.
11 Let (HD)the groaning of the prisoner come before You;
According to the greatness of Your [bm]power, let [bn]those who are (HE)doomed to die remain.

Their (HH)taunts with which they have taunted You, Lord.
13 So we Your people and the (HI)sheep of Your [bo]pasture
Will (HJ)give thanks to You forever;
