42 Como el ciervo brama por las corrientes de las aguas,
Así clama por ti, oh Dios, el alma mía.
2 Mi alma tiene sed de Dios, del Dios vivo;
¿Cuándo vendré, y me presentaré delante de Dios?
3 Fueron mis lágrimas mi pan de día y de noche,
Mientras me dicen todos los días: ¿Dónde está tu Dios?
4 Me acuerdo de estas cosas, y derramo mi alma dentro de mí;
De cómo yo fui con la multitud, y la conduje hasta la casa de Dios,
Entre voces de alegría y de alabanza del pueblo en fiesta.
5 ¿Por qué te abates, oh alma mía,
Y te turbas dentro de mí?
Espera en Dios; porque aún he de alabarle,
Salvación mía y Dios mío.
6 Dios mío, mi alma está abatida en mí;
Me acordaré, por tanto, de ti desde la tierra del Jordán,
Y de los hermonitas, desde el monte de Mizar.
7 Un abismo llama a otro a la voz de tus cascadas;
Todas tus ondas y tus olas han pasado sobre mí.
8 Pero de día mandará Jehová su misericordia,
Y de noche su cántico estará conmigo,
Y mi oración al Dios de mi vida.
9 Diré a Dios: Roca mía, ¿por qué te has olvidado de mí?
¿Por qué andaré yo enlutado por la opresión del enemigo?
10 Como quien hiere mis huesos, mis enemigos me afrentan,
Diciéndome cada día: ¿Dónde está tu Dios?

Y por qué te turbas dentro de mí?

Líbrame de gente impía, y del hombre engañoso e inicuo.
2 Pues que tú eres el Dios de mi fortaleza, ¿por qué me has desechado?

3 Envía tu luz y tu verdad; estas me guiarán;
Me conducirán a tu santo monte,
Y a tus moradas.
4 Entraré al altar de Dios,
Al Dios de mi alegría y de mi gozo;
Y te alabaré con arpa, oh Dios, Dios mío.
5 ¿Por qué te abates, oh alma mía,
Y por qué te turbas dentro de mí?

Afligiste a los pueblos, y los arrojaste.
3 Porque no se apoderaron de la tierra por su espada,
Ni su brazo los libró;
Sino tu diestra, y tu brazo, y la luz de tu rostro,
Porque te complaciste en ellos.
4 Tú, oh Dios, eres mi rey;
Manda salvación a Jacob.
5 Por medio de ti sacudiremos a nuestros enemigos;
En tu nombre hollaremos a nuestros adversarios.
6 Porque no confiaré en mi arco,
Ni mi espada me salvará;
7 Pues tú nos has guardado de nuestros enemigos,
Y has avergonzado a los que nos aborrecían.

15 Cada día mi vergüenza está delante de mí,
Y la confusión de mi rostro me cubre,
16 Por la voz del que me vitupera y deshonra,
Por razón del enemigo y del vengativo.
17 Todo esto nos ha venido, y no nos hemos olvidado de ti,
Y no hemos faltado a tu pacto.
18 No se ha vuelto atrás nuestro corazón,
Ni se han apartado de tus caminos nuestros pasos,
19 Para que nos quebrantases en el lugar de chacales,
Y nos cubrieses con sombra de muerte.
20 Si nos hubiésemos olvidado del nombre de nuestro Dios,
O alzado nuestras manos a dios ajeno,
21 ¿No demandaría Dios esto?
Porque él conoce los secretos del corazón.
22 Pero por causa de ti nos matan cada día;
Somos contados como ovejas para el matadero.(A)
23 Despierta; ¿por qué duermes, Señor?
Despierta, no te alejes para siempre.
24 ¿Por qué escondes tu rostro,

45 Rebosa mi corazón palabra buena;
Dirijo al rey mi canto;
Mi lengua es pluma de escribiente muy ligero.
2 Eres el más hermoso de los hijos de los hombres;
La gracia se derramó en tus labios;
Por tanto, Dios te ha bendecido para siempre.
3 Ciñe tu espada sobre el muslo, oh valiente,
Con tu gloria y con tu majestad.
4 En tu gloria sé prosperado;
Cabalga sobre palabra de verdad, de humildad y de justicia,
Y tu diestra te enseñará cosas terribles.
5 Tus saetas agudas,
Con que caerán pueblos debajo de ti,
Penetrarán en el corazón de los enemigos del rey.
6 Tu trono, oh Dios, es eterno y para siempre;
Cetro de justicia es el cetro de tu reino.

Vírgenes irán en pos de ella,
Compañeras suyas serán traídas a ti.
15 Serán traídas con alegría y gozo;
Entrarán en el palacio del rey.
16 En lugar de tus padres serán tus hijos,
A quienes harás príncipes en toda la tierra.
17 Haré perpetua la memoria de tu nombre en todas las generaciones,
Por lo cual te alabarán los pueblos eternamente y para siempre.

Escuchad, habitantes todos del mundo,
2 Así los plebeyos como los nobles,
El rico y el pobre juntamente.
3 Mi boca hablará sabiduría,
Y el pensamiento de mi corazón inteligencia.
4 Inclinaré al proverbio mi oído;
Declararé con el arpa mi enigma.
5 ¿Por qué he de temer en los días de adversidad,
Cuando la iniquidad de mis opresores me rodeare?
6 Los que confían en sus bienes,
Y de la muchedumbre de sus riquezas se jactan,
7 Ninguno de ellos podrá en manera alguna redimir al hermano,
Ni dar a Dios su rescate
8 (Porque la redención de su vida es de gran precio,
Y no se logrará jamás),
9 Para que viva en adelante para siempre,
Y nunca vea corrupción.
10 Pues verá que aun los sabios mueren;
Que perecen del mismo modo que el insensato y el necio,
Y dejan a otros sus riquezas.
11 Su íntimo pensamiento es que sus casas serán eternas,
Y sus habitaciones para generación y generación;
Dan sus nombres a sus tierras.
12 Mas el hombre no permanecerá en honra;
Es semejante a las bestias que perecen.
13 Este su camino es locura;
Con todo, sus descendientes se complacen en el dicho de ellos. Selah
14 Como a rebaños que son conducidos al Seol,
La muerte los pastoreará,
Y los rectos se enseñorearán de ellos por la mañana;
Se consumirá su buen parecer, y el Seol será su morada.

So my soul [c](A)pants for You, God.
2 My soul (B)thirsts for God, for the (C)living God;
When shall I come and [d](D)appear before God?
3 My (E)tears have been my food day and night,
While they (F)say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”
4 I remember these things and (G)pour out my soul within me.
For I (H)used to go over with the multitude and walk them to the house of God,
With a voice of (I)joy and thanksgiving, a multitude celebrating a festival.
5 (J)Why are you [e](K)in despair, my soul?
And why are you (L)restless within me?
(M)Wait for God, for I will [f]again praise [g]Him
For the [h](N)help of His [i]presence, my God.
6 My soul is [j]in despair within me;

3 For by their own sword they (AU)did not possess the land,
And their own arm did not save them,
But Your right hand and Your (AV)arm and the (AW)light of Your presence,
For You (AX)favored them.
4 You are (AY)my King, God;
(AZ)Command [x]victories for Jacob.
5 Through You we will (BA)push back our adversaries;
Through Your name we will (BB)trample down those who rise up against us.

Nor will my sword save me.

15 All day long my dishonor is before me
And [ac]I am covered with my (BT)humiliation,
16 Because of the voice of one who (BU)taunts and reviles,
Because of the presence of the (BV)enemy and the avenger.
17 All this has come upon us, but we have (BW)not forgotten You,
And we have not (BX)dealt falsely with Your covenant.
18 Our heart has not (BY)turned back,
And our steps (BZ)have not deviated from Your way,
19 Yet You have (CA)crushed us in a place of (CB)jackals
And covered us with [ad](CC)deep darkness.
20 If we had (CD)forgotten the name of our God
Or extended our [ae]hands to (CE)a strange god,
21 Would God not (CF)find this out?
For He knows the secrets of the heart.
22 But (CG)for Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are regarded as (CH)sheep to be slaughtered.
23 (CI)Wake Yourself up, why (CJ)do You sleep, Lord?
Awake, (CK)do not reject us forever.
24 Why do You (CL)hide Your face
And (CM)forget our affliction and oppression?
25 For our (CN)souls have sunk down into the dust;
Our bodies cling to the earth.

Therefore God has (CS)blessed You forever.
3 Strap (CT)Your sword on Your thigh, [al](CU)Mighty One,
In Your splendor and majesty!
4 And in Your majesty ride on victoriously,
For the cause of truth, (CV)humility, and righteousness;
Let Your (CW)right hand teach You [am]awesome things.
5 Your (CX)arrows are sharp;
The (CY)peoples fall under You;
Your arrows are (CZ)in the heart of the King’s enemies.
6 (DA)Your throne, God, is forever and ever;

(ET)Shout to God with a voice of joy.

The (EY)pride of Jacob whom He loves. Selah

They passed by together.
5 They saw it, then they were amazed;
They were (FT)terrified, they fled in a hurry.

Anguish, as that of (FU)a woman in childbirth.

You (FW)smash the (FX)ships of Tarshish.
8 Just as we have heard, so have we seen
In the city of the Lord of armies, in the city of our God;

5 Why should I (GR)fear in days of adversity,
When the injustice of those who betray me surrounds me,
6 Those who (GS)trust in their wealth
And boast in the abundance of their riches?
7 No one can by any means (GT)redeem another
Or give God a (GU)ransom for him—
8 For (GV)the redemption of [bf]his soul is priceless,
And he should cease imagining forever—
9 That he might (GW)live on eternally,
That he might not [bg](GX)undergo decay.
10 For he sees that even (GY)wise people die;
The (GZ)foolish and the stupid alike perish
And (HA)leave their wealth to others.
11 Their [bh](HB)inner thought is that their houses (HC)are forever
And their dwelling places to all generations;
They have (HD)named their lands after their own names.
12 But (HE)man in his splendor will not endure;
He is like the animals that [bi]perish.
13 This is the (HF)way of those who are foolish,
And of those after them who (HG)approve their words. Selah
14 Like sheep they sink down (HH)to [bj]Sheol;
Death will be their shepherd;
And the (HI)upright will rule over them in the morning,
And their form shall be for [bk]Sheol (HJ)to consume
[bl]So that they have no lofty home.
15 But God will (HK)redeem my soul from the [bm]power of [bn]Sheol,
For (HL)He will receive me. Selah
16 Do not be afraid (HM)when a person becomes rich,
When the splendor of his house is increased;
17 For when he dies, he will (HN)take nothing with him;
His [bo]wealth will not descend after him.

And though people praise you when you do well for yourself—
19 [bq]He will (HP)go to the generation of his fathers;
They will never see (HQ)the light.
