A psalm of David. When he was in the Desert of Judah.

²² We know that the whole creation has been groaning^(A) as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. ²³ Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit,^(B) groan^(C) inwardly as we wait eagerly^(D) for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.^(E)

¹⁸ Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.^(A)

¹³ But encourage one another daily,^(A) as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.^(B)

¹⁶ They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us^(A) and hide us^[a] from the face of him who sits on the throne^(B) and from the wrath of the Lamb! ¹⁷ For the great day^(C) of their^[b] wrath has come, and who can withstand it?”^(D)
