¹³ I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles,^(A) I take pride in my ministry ¹⁴ in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy^(B) and save^(C) some of them. ¹⁵ For if their rejection brought reconciliation^(D) to the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?^(E)

³² “Now I commit you to God^(A) and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance^(B) among all those who are sanctified.^(C)

Peace and Hope

5 Therefore, since we have been justified^(A) through faith,^(B) we^[a] have peace^(C) with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,^{(D) 2} through whom we have gained access^(E) by faith into this grace in which we now stand.^(F) And we^[b] boast in the hope^(G) of the glory of God.

¹¹ Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.^(A)

¹⁸ All this is from God,^(A) who reconciled us to himself through Christ^(B) and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: ¹⁹ that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them.^(C) And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

¹⁹ For God was pleased^(A) to have all his fullness^(B) dwell in him, ²⁰ and through him to reconcile^(C) to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven,^(D) by making peace^(E) through his blood,^(F) shed on the cross.

²¹ Once you were alienated from God and were enemies^(G) in your minds^(H) because of^[a] your evil behavior. ²² But now he has reconciled^(I) you by Christ’s physical body^(J) through death to present you^(K) holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation^(L)—

¹⁶ For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants.^{(A) 17} For this reason he had to be made like them,^[a](B) fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful^(C) and faithful high priest^(D) in service to God,^(E) and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.^{(F) 18} Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.^(G)
