⁸ He rules the world in righteousness^(A)
    and judges the peoples with equity.^(B)
9 The Lord is a refuge^(C) for the oppressed,^(D)
    a stronghold in times of trouble.^(E)
10 Those who know your name^(F) trust in you,
    for you, Lord, have never forsaken^(G) those who seek you.^(H)

² The Lord is my rock,^(C) my fortress^(D) and my deliverer;^(E)
    my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,^(F)
    my shield^[b](G) and the horn^[c] of my salvation,^(H) my stronghold.

³ I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise,^(I)
    and I have been saved from my enemies.^(J)

⁷ The Lord is my strength^(A) and my shield;
    my heart trusts^(B) in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,^(C)
    and with my song I praise him.^(D)

⁸ The Lord is the strength^(E) of his people,
    a fortress of salvation^(F) for his anointed one.^(G)
9 Save your people^(H) and bless your inheritance;^(I)
    be their shepherd^(J) and carry them^(K) forever.

³⁸ But all sinners^(A) will be destroyed;^(B)
    there will be no future^[a] for the wicked.^(C)

³⁹ The salvation^(D) of the righteous comes from the Lord;
    he is their stronghold in time of trouble.^(E)
40 The Lord helps^(F) them and delivers^(G) them;
    he delivers them from the wicked and saves^(H) them,
    because they take refuge^(I) in him.
