But ^(D)he who restrains his lips is wise.
²⁰ The tongue of the righteous is choice silver;
The heart of the wicked is worth little.
²¹ The lips of the righteous feed many,
But fools die for lack of ^[b]wisdom.

^27 (A)He who has knowledge spares his words,
And a man of understanding is of a calm spirit.

^23 (A)Whoever guards his mouth and tongue
Keeps his soul from troubles.

²⁰ Do you see a man hasty in his words?
^(A)There is more hope for a fool than for him.

¹³ He who answers a matter before he hears it,
It is folly and shame to him.
