Proverbs 3:5-12
New International Version
5 Trust in the Lord(A) with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths(B) straight.[a](C)
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;(D)
fear the Lord(E) and shun evil.(F)
8 This will bring health to your body(G)
and nourishment to your bones.(H)

9 Honor the Lord with your wealth
and with (I)the firstfruits of all your produce;
10 then your (J)barns will be filled with plenty,
and your vats will be bursting with wine.
11 (K)My son, do not despise the Lord's discipline
or be weary of his reproof,
12 for the Lord reproves him whom he loves,
as (L)a father the son in whom he delights.

9 Honor the Lord with your wealth
and with the first of all your crops.
10 Then your barns will be filled with plenty,
and your vats will burst with wine.
11 Don’t reject the instruction of the Lord, my son;
don’t despise his correction.
12 The Lord loves those he corrects,
just like a father who treats his son with favor.

5 With all your heart
you must trust the Lord
and not your own judgment.
6 Always let him lead you,
and he will clear the road
for you to follow.
7 (A) Don't ever think that you
are wise enough,
but respect the Lord
and stay away from evil.
8 This will make you healthy,
and you will feel strong.
9 Honor the Lord by giving him
your money and the first part
of all your crops.
10 Then you will have
more grain and grapes
than you will ever need.
11 (B)(C) My child, don't turn away
or become bitter
when the Lord corrects you.
12 (D) The Lord corrects
everyone he loves,
just as parents correct
a child they dearly love.
