²⁹ since they hated knowledge
    and did not choose to fear the Lord.^(A)

31 they will eat the fruit of their ways
    and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.^(C)
32 For the waywardness of the simple will kill them,
    and the complacency of fools will destroy them;^(D)
33 but whoever listens to me will live in safety^(E)
    and be at ease, without fear of harm.”^(F)

    but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.

12 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
    but whoever hates correction is stupid.^(A)

13 A wise son heeds his father’s instruction,
    but a mocker does not respond to rebukes.^(A)

    but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.^(C)

¹² Mockers resent correction,^(A)
    so they avoid the wise.

    more than a hundred lashes a fool.
