²⁹ Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, ^(A)there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel’s sake, ^30 [a]but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in ^[b]the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in ^(B)the age to come, eternal life.

²⁰ Remember the word that I said to you, ‘^(A)A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, ^(B)they will persecute you as well; if they ^(C)followed My word, they will follow yours also.

¹² Indeed, all who want to live in a godly way in Christ Jesus ^(A)will be persecuted. ¹³ But evil people and impostors ^(B)will proceed from bad to worse, ^(C)deceiving and being deceived.
