John Prepares the Way^(A)

1 This is the beginning of the Good News about Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

¹¹ Whenever people with evil spirits saw him, they would fall down in front of him and shout, “You are the Son of God!”

⁷ and shouted, “Why are you bothering me now, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Swear to God that you won’t torture me.”

³⁹ When the officer who stood facing Jesus saw how he gave up his spirit, he said, “Certainly, this man was the Son of God!”

No One Knows When the Earth and the Heavens Will Disappear

³² “No one knows when that day or hour will come. Even the angels in heaven and the Son don’t know. Only the Father knows.

⁶¹ But he was silent.

The chief priest asked him again, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?”

¹¹ A voice from heaven said, “You are my Son, whom I love. I am pleased with you.”

⁷ Then a cloud overshadowed them. A voice came out of the cloud and said, “This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!”
