¹⁷ And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’^[a]?^(A) But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’^[b]”^(B)

⁴ and will give our attention to prayer^(A) and the ministry of the word.”

¹⁸ And pray in the Spirit^(A) on all occasions^(B) with all kinds of prayers and requests.^(C) With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying^(D) for all the Lord’s people.

⁶ Do not be anxious about anything,^(A) but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.^(B)

² Devote yourselves to prayer,^(A) being watchful and thankful.

¹⁵ And the prayer offered in faith^(A) will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. ¹⁶ Therefore confess your sins^(B) to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.^(C) The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.^(D)

⁷ The end of all things is near.^(A) Therefore be alert and of sober mind^(B) so that you may pray.
