² My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there^(A) to prepare a place for you? ³ And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back^(B) and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.^{(C) 4} You know the way to the place where I am going.”

²⁶ Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be.^(A) My Father will honor the one who serves me.

¹⁸ I will not leave you as orphans;^(A) I will come to you.^{(B) 19} Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me.^(C) Because I live, you also will live.^{(D) 20} On that day^(E) you will realize that I am in my Father,^(F) and you are in me, and I am in you.^(G)

¹¹ “Men of Galilee,”^(A) they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back^(B) in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

⁸ He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless^(A) on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.^(B)

⁴⁸ As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven.^(A)

¹⁶ For the Lord himself will come down from heaven,^(A) with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel^(B) and with the trumpet call of God,^(C) and the dead in Christ will rise first.^{(D) 17} After that, we who are still alive and are left^(E) will be caught up together with them in the clouds^(F) to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord^(G) forever.

¹¹ And of this gospel^(A) I was appointed^(B) a herald and an apostle and a teacher.^{(C) 12} That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame,^(D) because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard^(E) what I have entrusted to him until that day.^(F)

²⁸ so Christ was sacrificed once^(A) to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time,^(B) not to bear sin,^(C) but to bring salvation^(D) to those who are waiting for him.^(E)
