³¹ The tumult^(A) will resound to the ends of the earth,
    for the Lord will bring charges^(B) against the nations;
he will bring judgment^(C) on all^(D) mankind
    and put the wicked to the sword,^(E)’”
declares the Lord.

“Look! Disaster^(F) is spreading
    from nation to nation;^(G)
a mighty storm^(H) is rising
    from the ends of the earth.”^(I)

⁶ Endless ruin has overtaken my enemies,
    you have uprooted their cities;^(A)
    even the memory of them^(B) has perished.

⁶ They return at evening,
    snarling like dogs,^(A)
    and prowl about the city.
⁷ See what they spew from their mouths^(B)—
    the words from their lips are sharp as swords,^(C)
    and they think, “Who can hear us?”^(D)
8 But you laugh at them, Lord;^(E)
    you scoff at all those nations.^(F)
