For your Maker(A) is your husband(B)
    the Lord Almighty is his name—
the Holy One(C) of Israel is your Redeemer;(D)
    he is called the God of all the earth.(E)

For you will spread out to the right and to the left;
    your descendants(A) will dispossess nations(B)
    and settle in their desolate(C) cities.

“Do not be afraid;(D) you will not be put to shame.(E)
    Do not fear disgrace;(F) you will not be humiliated.
You will forget the shame of your youth(G)
    and remember no more the reproach(H) of your widowhood.(I)
For your Maker(J) is your husband(K)

The Lord will call you back(O)
    as if you were a wife deserted(P) and distressed in spirit—
a wife who married young,(Q)
    only to be rejected,” says your God.
“For a brief moment(R) I abandoned(S) you,
    but with deep compassion(T) I will bring you back.(U)
In a surge of anger(V)
    I hid(W) my face from you for a moment,
but with everlasting kindness(X)
    I will have compassion(Y) on you,”
    says the Lord your Redeemer.(Z)

“To me this is like the days of Noah,
    when I swore that the waters of Noah would never again cover the earth.(AA)
So now I have sworn(AB) not to be angry(AC) with you,
    never to rebuke(AD) you again.
10 Though the mountains be shaken(AE)
    and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love(AF) for you will not be shaken(AG)
    nor my covenant(AH) of peace(AI) be removed,”
    says the Lord, who has compassion(AJ) on you.

11 “Afflicted(AK) city, lashed by storms(AL) and not comforted,(AM)
    I will rebuild you with stones of turquoise,[a](AN)
    your foundations(AO) with lapis lazuli.(AP)
12 I will make your battlements of rubies,
    your gates(AQ) of sparkling jewels,
    and all your walls of precious stones.
13 All your children will be taught by the Lord,(AR)
    and great will be their peace.(AS)
14 In righteousness(AT) you will be established:(AU)
Tyranny(AV) will be far from you;
    you will have nothing to fear.(AW)
Terror(AX) will be far removed;
    it will not come near you.
15 If anyone does attack you, it will not be my doing;
    whoever attacks you will surrender(AY) to you.
