Isaiah’s Vision

6 In the year of ^(A)King Uzziah’s death ^(B)I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple. ² Seraphim were standing above Him, ^(C)each having six wings: with two each covered his face, and with two each covered his feet, and with two each flew. ³ And one called out to another and said,

⁴ And the ^[b]foundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called out, while the ^[c](F)temple was filling with smoke. ⁵ Then I said,

^4 (A)Around the throne were ^(B)twenty-four thrones; and upon the thrones I saw ^(C)twenty-four elders ^(D)sitting, clothed in ^(E)white garments, and ^(F)golden crowns on their heads.

The Throne and Worship of the Creator

⁵ Out from the throne *came ^(G)flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder. And there were ^(H)seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are ^[a](I)the seven spirits of God; ⁶ and before the throne there was something like a ^(J)sea of glass, like crystal; and in the ^[b]center and ^(K)around the throne, ^(L)four living creatures ^(M)full of eyes in front and behind. ^7 (N)The first living creature was like a lion, the second creature like a calf, the third creature had a face like that of a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying eagle. ⁸ And the ^(O)four living creatures, each one of them having ^(P)six wings, are ^(Q)full of eyes around and within; and ^(R)day and night ^[c]they do not cease to say,
