⁸ “We both had dreams,” they answered, “but there is no one to interpret them.”^(A)

Then Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to God?^(B) Tell me your dreams.”

¹⁶ “I cannot do it,” Joseph replied to Pharaoh, “but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires.”^(A)

⁵¹ Joseph named his firstborn^(A) Manasseh^[a](B) and said, “It is because God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father’s household.” ⁵² The second son he named Ephraim^[b](C) and said, “It is because God has made me fruitful^(D) in the land of my suffering.”
